This is a text description of Figure 7-1, "xsnaadmin Main Screen".

The text surrounding the figure describes the use of this menu. The figure is a screen capture image and contains example data that may not match your system. The title bar label is "SNAP-IX node itdev-sun2".

Upon invoking xsnaadmin, the main screen will open and display the current configuration of the local SNA node. The menu bar has five lists:

  1. "Selection"

  2. "Services"

  3. "Diagnostics"

  4. "Windows"

  5. "Help"

Seven buttons are shown on the tool bar:

  1. "Start"

  2. "Stop"

  3. "Add"

  4. "Delete"

  5. "Zoom"

  6. "Status"

  7. "Copy"

At the right end of the tool bar is a section with the label "itdev-sun2 Active".

The client area* of the window is divided into three sections that indicate active and inactive status for:

  1. "Connectivity and dependent LUs"

  2. "Independent local LUs"

  3. "Remote systems"

At the right end of each section label is a button with a question mark. These three sections contain lists, which may include sub groups. Buttons with "+" or "-" symbols are used to open or hide lists of sub groups. Scroll bars appear if the lists exceed the space available.

The section labeled "Connectivity and dependent LUs" has three lines of data:

- TSAPO, Active, Token-Ring
    + MVS08, Active, Link to MVS08
      MVS09, Listening, Link to MVS09

The section labeled "Independent local LUs" has four lines of data:

+ HQWX501    15 Sessions
  HQWX502    Inactive
  HQWX503    Inactive
  HQWX5CP    Inactive    (Auto defined - default LU)

The section labeled "Remote systems" has two lines of data:

+ ORACLE.HQMVS2   10 Sessions   (Auto defined - remote node)
+ ORACLE.MVS08    5 Sessions    MP3000 - MVS08

*client area (or pane) refers to the information section within the window frame or border.
