This is a text description of Figure 9-1, "xsnapadmin Main Screen".

The figure is a screen capture image and contains example data that may not match your system. The text surrounding the figure describes the use of this screen.

The figure displays a title bar with the name: "SNAplus2 node ocelot". Upon startup of xsnapadmin, the main screen opens and displays the current configuration of the local SNA node.

The menu bar has five lists, which have the following names: "Selection", "Services", "Diagnostics", "Windows", and "Help".

Six buttons are shown on the tool bar. From left to right, they are:

Start, Stop, Add, Delete, Zoom, and Copy.

At the right end of the tool bar is a section with the label "ocelot Inactive".

The client area* of the window is divided into three sections that indicate active and inactive status for: "Connectivity and dependent LUs", "Independent local LUs", and "Remote systems"

At the right end of each section label is an icon with a question mark. These three sections contain lists, which may include sub groups. Icons with plus (+) or minus (-) symbols are used to display or hide lists of sub groups. At the right side of each list section is a vertical scroll bar. The data in all three of these lists is displayed in alignment, similar to columns in a table.

The first section (Connectivity and dependent LUs) has two rows of data.

The first row begins with a small minus sign icon (to indicate an open list), followed by a small xxx? icon and the term "ETSAPO". Further to the right is the word "Inactive". Further to the right is the phrase "Ethernet Card on Ocelot".

The second row begins with a small xxx? icon, indented compared to the first row, and followed by the term "ETHLO". Further to the right is the word "Inactive". Further to the right is the term "MVS02".

The second section (Independent local LUs) has four rows of data. Each row begins with a small icon of a computer terminal followed by a term. Further to the right in each row is the word "Inactive". The fourth row has an additional phrase in the last column area. The rows appear as follows:

These entries are all aligned with the similar entries in the first section, above.

The third section (Remote systems) has eight rows of data. The first two rows begin at the left edge.

The first row begins with a small plus sign (+) icon followed by a computer server icon, followed by the term "ORACLE.HQMVS2". Further to the right is the word "Inactive". Further to the right is the term "MVS/ESA".

The second row begins with a small minus sign (-) icon followed by a computer server icon, followed by the term "ORACLE.MVS02". Further to the right, the space is blank in the column area where the previous row has the word "Inactive", but further to the right is the term "MVS02", which is under the term "MVS/ESA" in the row above.

The bottom six rows are indented below the second row, because the minus sign icon indicates that these six rows are contained within the opened list item "ORACLE.MVS02".
