This is a text description of Figure 6-8, "Enter System Identification".

The text surrounding the figure describes the use of this dialog box. The figure is a screen capture image and contains example data that may not match your system. You must make selections appropriate for your system. The title bar label is "Connection Properties".

This is the same dialog box as described in figure 6-7. The client area* has four tabs, and the third tab ("System Identification") is displayed. The tab names are "General", "Address", "System Identification", and "802.2 DLC". A row of three buttons is at the bottom.

This tab has four group boxes. Tthe two group boxes on the left contain edit boxes. The two group boxes on the right contain radio buttons.

The first group box label is "Local Node Name". The first line has the term "Network Name:" (the "N" of Network is underlined) followed by an edit box with the entry "ORACLE". The second line has the term "Control Point Name:" (the "C" is underlined) followed by an edit box with the entry "ITDVNT11". The third line has the term "Local Node ID:" (the "L" is underlined) followed by two edit boxes containing the entries "05D" and "20522".

To the right of the Local Node Name group box is a group box with the label "XID Type". The upper radio button is labeled "Format 0", and the "0" is underlined. The lower radio button (selected) is labeled "Format 3", and the "3" is underlined.

Below the Local Node Name group box is a group box labeled "Remote Node Name". The first line has the term "Network Name:" (the "w" of Network is underlined) followed by an edit box with the entry "ORACLE". The second line has the term "Control Point Name:" (the "P" is underlined) followed by an edit box with the entry "HQMVS2". The third line has the term "Remote Node ID:" (the "R" is underlined) followed by two edit boxes, which are both empty.

To the right of the Remote Node Name group box is a group box with the label "Peer DLC Role". The top radio button is labeled "Primary", and the "m" is underlined. The middle radio button is labeled "Secondary", and the "S" is underlined. The bottom radio button is labeled "Negotiable", and the "o" is underlined. None of these three buttons has been selected.

The three buttons are labeled: "OK", "Cancel", and "Help".
