This is a text description of Figure 1-2, "Oracle Access Manager for AS/400 Architecture".

This illustration of Oracle Access Manager architecture is adequately described in the "Architecture of Oracle Access Manager for AS/400" section of the chapter, which is presented near the figure.

An AS/400 computer is shown with applications, including an "AS/400 application", a "SQL Client manager", an "Application Requester Driver Interface", "Oracle Access Manager", and "Oracle Net". An additional label to the right indicates that the AS/400 computer, the "AS/400 application", the "SQL Client manager", and the "Application Requester Driver Interface" are all part of the IBM architecture and software, and that the "Oracle Access Manager", and "Oracle Net" are part of the Oracle software.

TCP/IP connections from Oracle Net allow the AS/400 application to have access to Oracle Databases and to any database to which an Oracle gateway can connect.

The purpose of this figure is to show how an AS/400 application can use Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Net (running on the AS/400) to have access to one or more Oracle Database servers, and to have access to other databases (such as Informix, INGRESS, Sybase, and so forth) through an Oracle Transparent Gateway that is connected to an Oracle Database server.
