Intended Audience

Pro*C/C++ Getting Started is intended for anyone who wants to use Pro*C/C++ to perform the following tasks:

• Embed SQL statements in a C or C++ program.

• Build Oracle database applications with Pro*C/C++.

To use this document, you need to know:

• Commands for deleting and copying files and the concepts of the search path, subdirectories, and path names.

• How to use the Windows operating system.

• Visual C++ version 5.0 or higher.
